Tamar Kozlov

Tamar Kozlov is an independent filmmaker whose work has focused on culture, the arts and plants. Starting acting at a young age Tamar received two daytime Emmy awards recognitions for her 25 year-long role as Prunella on the Peabody award winning children’s series “Arthur”. But acting was only the entrance into the world of filmmaking as her passion shifted to documentary film while at Carleton University’s School of Journalism where she graduated with a high honours Bachelor of Journalism. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit she bought a camera right away and started freelancing. Her work showcases a strong sense of justice and optimism, while highlighting communities and people who shape the world through leading by example. Her work has screened at Planet in Focus, The Okanagan Film Festival, Olio Festival, Sechelt Arts Festival, and has aired on CTV, CBC, Global, The NFB website, Eastlink TV and on many organizations' websites and social media. She received a Hot Docs Emerging Filmmakers Scholarship, a Heritage BC Award of Excellence and an Interpretation Canada Bronze Medal, while pursuing passion projects and committing to use documentary film to tell important stories.
